Indoor Stage Performances:-
IMPORTANT Bubbles are very delicate and hate any breeze, especially from fans & air con units. Please ensure all vents are directed away from bubble area & fans are turned off. With central air con, please tape up vents over the stage area. Bubbles also hate cold dry rooms, please raise your air con temperatures. The more humidity the greater the bubbles!
ZERO BREEZE ENVIRONMENT!
Most people don’t realize there is any breeze in their venues. Simple test – if the curtain or palm leaves are moving, or if a balloon is blown around then you have a stray breeze that will disrupt our bubbles.
We will conduct a bubble test to check for breezes 5 mins before show starts.
STAGE OR RAISE PODIUM:
So your guests can see us. Minimum size – 6m x 4m
DARK BACKDROP:
A black matt backdrop that is wide enough that audience sitting on the most left or most right can see the black background behind us as we perform.
A dark navy, dark green, burgundy or other solid colored dark backdrop is fine. White or bright coloured backdrops compete with the bubble colours and cancel them out, making viewing of the bubbles tricky.
HEADSET MIC:
Please provide a head set mic. As our hands are soapy we can’t hold a cordless mic. However if you really can’t provide a head set than as a last resort we can tie the cordless mic around our neck. It looks ugly, but it’s better than nothing.
SOUND TECNICIAN:
Is require to play our backing track and adjust volume levels during our performance
LIGHTING:
Bright, white light is best for viewing bubbles. Each bubble reflects each light source twice on its surface (front & back). So adding more lights is better (to obtain more reflections, thus creating more depth especially in photography or filming) than dialing up the intensity of fewer lights.
EMCEE
Please have an MC to introduce my performance.
We require 2-3 minutes to set up & 2-3 minutes to pack up our equipment on stage and will require assistant by your stage hands to carry equipment on & off stage. So the MC will have to any fill by standing off stage.
MULIPAL SHOWS AT SAME VENUE:
We will need access to water, preferably a large sink at the cleaner’s station for washing our equipment, trays & boxes, etc.
LOADING & UNLOADING:
We require easy access to your venue to load & un-load with my trollies. Please note we’ll have pots of bubble juice which cannot be tilted and must be carried horizontally. Stairs are a nightmare.

FANS:
Please ask the tent guys to place any fan over the stage on a separate circuit so they can be switched off during our show, without turning off the sound systems and all the other fans/lights too!
We have a different repertoire of bubbles that can be performed outdoors in a breeze. Kid-in-a-Bubble is not one of these, so is not possible for outdoor venues.
Workshops:-

STUDENT/TRAINER RATIO:
1 trainer can accommodate up to 24 students. 35 students require 1 trainer & 1 assistant
WORK TABLES:
Each student requires table space to work at. Each student place will provided with 1x table mat
WASHING FACILITIES:
We will need access to water, preferably at the cleaner’s station for washing my equipment, trays & boxes, etc. Students may need to wash their hands after.

FLOORING:
Please provide level carpeted flooring to prevent any slippage. Again dark colours work best.
LIGHTING:
Bright, white light is best for viewing bubbles. Each bubble reflects each light source twice off its surface (front & back). So adding more lights is better (to obtain more reflections, thus creating more depth especially in photography or filming) than dialing up the intensity of fewer lights.
However hot lights dry out the air, so bubbles evaporate faster and pop quicker.
We can provide water spray bottles to spray in the air just before each shot.
Outdoor Photography or Filming:-
WIND
Bubbles will fly in the direction of the wind. So you’ll need to be down wind or at an angle to the wind. If there is no wind the bubble performer has to move or swing their rods or walk backwards to create the bubbles.
BACKGROUND
Find a dark background to shoot against. I.e. a wall of green trees, a dark grey stormy or deep blue sky, a reflective glass building or a dark wall. Any light coloured or background such as white sky or white building will make viewing the bubbles difficult.
